Christmas is just around the corner and there is no better time to visit Japan than December. Especially for the Hello Kitty fanatics. Why? Because Hello Kitty Land Tokyo, AKA Sanrio Puroland is holding its annual spectacular Christmas event themed Puro White Christmas!
Sanrio Puroland is once again collaborating with Naked, one of Japan’s leading creative production houses to bring back its popular immersive digital art experiences at Hello Kitty Land. Their breathtaking projection mapping installation, the Puroland × NAKED “Magical Snow II, the Kiki & Lala, Twinkling tour”, takes visitors to Little Twin Stars hometown, “Dream Galaxy”
There are tons of returning activities that fans can look forward to. Once a day during Puro White Christmas, fans can enjoy Musical Show ‘The Puro Christmas’, a 25 minutes long musical show and an amazing digital snow display featuring Twin Stars (Kiki & Lala), Hello Kitty, My Melody, Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin and also Dear Daniel, Wish me mell.
There is also the beautiful illumination show “Twinkle Sparkle” where half a million blue and pink lights and lasers create a magical setting of snow and stars under one roof. Visitors can even join in and dance along with Kiki & Lala.
There will be something for everyone to enjoy whether it’s meeting Hello Kitty herself, capturing memorable photos or purchasing limited edition Sanrio merchandise. As Sanrio Puroland is an indoor park, it’s perfect for a day trip rain or shine. The Puro White Christmas is ongoing from now until 25 December.
Travel Tips Sanrio Puroland is about 30 minutes by train from central Tokyo. From Shinjuku Station, hop on board the Keio Line and get off at Tama-Center Station. The park is an eight minutes walk from the station via an elevated walkway.
Here are some tips we’ve put together to help you plan and enjoy Sanrio Puroland better.
Purchase discounted tickets in advance to save. Sanrio Puroland has free WiFi so you can keep in contact via a app. If you’re arriving on route to or from the airport, you can store your luggage and bags at the station lockers. The park has lockers but the station have the bigger ones. Bring a long your passport to enjoy tax free benefits at the gift shops at Sanrio Puroland. Smoking is not allowed indoors, except for in the designated location.Go on weekdays to avoid the crowds and queues. Opt for the PuroPass on weekends to bypass the lines.
