Tiger Kingdom, Phuket: Pay 900Baht to Feed the Tigers or They will Feed You!

Hello everyone! I am thrilled to share one of my travel experiences that I will never forget. It's the Tiger Kingdom in Phuket, Thailand. My recent trip to this tropical paradise was a blend of relaxation and adventure, making it an unforgettable #birthdaytrip experience.

The Tiger Kingdom in Phuket offers tourists the opportunity to get up close with tigers and other big cats. There, I was able to engage in various activities. Don't worry, I will share the ticket price list too, for your reference. However, my gentle reminder, it's better to go through travel agents since it's always packed with tourists and you might have to wait a few hours for your turn. Okay, story time!

#1: My First Impressions

First of all, how I feel about this place. I'm not sure about other people, but for me, to get close up and pat the tigers with my own hands would be a lifetime experience that I wanted to do at least once. I went there early after the hotel's breakfast, at 8.30am. It's located only 5km from Patong Beach. I decided to rent a scooter (250Baht/day = RM45) and requested not to follow my group. It's my birthday trip, so I needed more time for myself. It was my first experience riding a scooter, but it was fun! I love exploring and discovering Phuket, a beautiful beach! I used Google Maps to get the direction and it's quite easy to get there as it's just near the main road. You should give it a try too!

#2: Collect Tickets or Queue Up?

Upon arrival, the gatekeeper gave me a coupon. It's my queue number of the day. I was number 08 in line. Lucky number! Good thing I decided to come early, or else I might have to wait longer. The Tiger Kingdom is always packed with tourists from all around the world. If you're traveling without a travel agent, get ready to queue up at the walk-in ticket counter, (I won't), however. If you booked the ticket from travel agents, just proceed to the privilege counter, walk like VVIP and collect your wristband. After collecting my wristband, I waited in the lounge. I had the chance to talk to other tourists too. They're a couple from Denmark, and families from South Korea and Spain. It's fun to share the same excitement since it was the first experience for all of us.

#3: Choose Your Tigers

This is a tough decision to make. If I could, I would love to have a 15 minute session with every big cat there, but I chose medium tigers because I could. Actually, I was not aware that tickets for feeding the tigers and having a session in the cage with them were sold separately. Also, if I were to change or add them on I had to wait for a few hours more. Well, that's okay, having a 15 minute session with them is enough. I cannot believe that I was able to see tigers that close and touch them.

The first 3 minutes I'm quite nervous actually, I believe many will do. Crazy, isn't it? These big cats are just in front of you, with that hungry look. But the keeper really helps to calm me down. Also, I was instructed to approach the tiger from behind and avoid face-to-face interactions. They're not being drugged, ironically, they're behaving well. So don't worry, they won't take you for their meals (hopefully). It's a lifetime experience that I could never forget! The excitement, nervousness, and thrilling. It's just overwhelming. One of my bucket lists is done!

#4: Tickets/Package Price

As I said earlier, its better to skip the line and wait for a few hours just to get entrance tickets, especially if you're coming with kids or elderly people. You can purchase tickets from travel agents. As promised, please refer to the price list below for your reference.
