7D6N Jeju & Busan Itinerary for the nature and cultural lovers

Annyeong!

Embark on an enchanting journey through South Korea's hidden gems as we unveil an unforgettable 7 day adventure across the picturesque landscapes of Jeju Island and the bustling cityscape of Busan. From the volcanic wonders and pristine beaches of Jeju to the vibrant culture and modernity of Busan, you will find that these two cities vastly varies while capturing the essence of both natural beauty and urban life.

This 7D6N itinerary takes you right into the heart of Jeju and Busan, where ancient traditions blend harmoniously with contemporary allure, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

DAY 1: Arrival in Jeju

As you step off your flight at Jeju International Airport, a warm South Korean welcome awaits you. We highly recommend engaging a local guide-cum-driver on your first day on 'Island of the Gods' and have them meet you at the airport. They will be ready to assist you throughout your stay and transport you around without having to worry about your luggage before check in.

Tip: In South Korea, cars are driven on the right side of the road and are the steering wheel is on the left side. So for first timers planning to rent a car for the duration of their stay, this can be quite jarring. Having a local driver will help ease the stress of moving about especially on your first day in Jeju.

Your first stop will be Jeju's iconic landmark. Located at Iho Beach, the iconic Iho Tewoo Horse Lighthouses are conveniently located close to downtown Jeju City. Perched majestically on a coastal promontory, this historic beacon is not just a navigational aid but a symbol of Jeju's rich maritime heritage. You'll have the opportunity to explore the area, taking in the breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding coastline.

The vibrant Dongmun Market, one of Jeju's most famous and bustling markets is a great spot for you to get a taste of Jeju's local cuisine. This market offers a colorful array of fresh produce, seafood, traditional snacks, and artisan crafts. Stroll through the labyrinthine alleys, where the lively atmosphere and aromatic scents will invigorate your senses. Be sure to try some local delicacies and perhaps pick up a unique souvenir.

This is just a taste of what Jeju has to offer. After a day filled with exploration, it's time to check in to your comfortable hotel or accommodation. As you settle in, you'll find that Jeju's hospitality is as warm as its climate. Unwind, freshen up, and prepare for the adventures that await in the coming days.

DAY 2: Jeju's Natural Wonders and Culture

Rise and shine early as an exhilarating day of exploration awaits on the eastern side of Jeju Island, where the island's pristine beauty and rich culture converge seamlessly.

Begin your day with a visit to Seongsan Ilchulbong, often referred to as Sunrise Peak. This awe-inspiring volcanic crater stands as an iconic symbol of Jeju's geological marvels. The breathtaking views of the surrounding sea and the opportunity to witness a sunrise from this vantage point are unparalleled. Whether you arrive for sunrise or at another time, the hike to the summit offers a sense of accomplishment, and the vistas will leave you in awe.

After descending from Seongsan Ilchulbong, your next stop is the Seongeup Folk Village. Here, you'll step back in time and immerse yourself in the island's rich cultural heritage. Traditional thatched-roof houses, known as hanok, line the narrow lanes, offering a glimpse into Jeju's past. This living museum provides an authentic experience of rural Jeju life.

Next, continue your journey to Cheonjiyeon Waterfall, one of Jeju's most enchanting natural wonders. The name translates to "Pond of the Emperor of Heaven," and it's easy to see why. The falls cascade gracefully into a serene pool, surrounded by lush vegetation and a mystical ambiance. Take a leisurely stroll along well-maintained pathways, breathing in the refreshing mist and listening to the soothing sounds of nature.

To round off your day, experience life on a Jeju tangerine farm. Jeju is renowned for its sweet and succulent tangerines, and this visit will allow you to pick these delectable fruits firsthand. Engage with local farmers, learn about the cultivation process, and taste the fruits of your labor. It's a delightful way to connect with Jeju's agricultural heritage and savor its natural bounty.

DAY 3: Jeju Southern Exploration

Your first stop is the picturesque Woljeongri Beach, a hidden gem on the island's eastern coast. Known for its crystal-clear waters and stunning white sand, this beach is a haven of tranquility. Woljeongri Beach is also famous for its beautiful sunrise views, making it a serene and romantic destination.

After your relaxing beach time, it's off to an exciting shopping spree. Your first stop is the National Ginseng Gallery, where you can explore the world of ginseng, a revered Korean herb known for its health benefits. Learn about its cultivation, medicinal properties, and even pick up some ginseng-based products as souvenirs.

South Korea is well known for its beauty and wellness products. Be sure to include a stop at Innisfree or Olive Young to discover a wide range of beauty and wellness products inspired by traditional Korean herbal remedies. Don't forget to bring your passport along to get tax exemption.

End your day on a shopping spree at the Jungang Underground Market, one of Jeju's vibrant shopping hubs. The bustling atmosphere and diverse offerings make this underground market a must-visit for shoppers and curious travelers alike.

DAY 4: On to Busan!

Bid farewell to the enchanting island of Jeju as you embark on the next leg of your South Korean journey. Catch an early morning flight from Jeju to Gimhae Airport in Busan.

Grab a bite to fill your tummies before boarding the Beach Train. This charming mode of transportation takes you from Mipo Beach to Cheongsapo Beach, providing you with a unique vantage point to admire the coastal scenery. The Blue Line Beach Train offers panoramic ocean views, letting you soak in the beauty of Busan's coastline.

Your Beach Train adventure extends to Songjeong Beach, a popular beach destination away from the bustling Busan city center. Here, you can take a leisurely stroll along the shoreline, dip your toes in the sea, or simply relax and unwind as you enjoy the serene coastal ambiance.

The highlight of the day awaits as you make your way to the Cheongsapo Daritdol Skywalk. This marvel of modern engineering is a snake-shaped marine skywalk with a transparent glass floor. As you step onto the skywalk, you'll feel like you're walking on air, with breathtaking views of the coastline and the waves crashing below. The transparent floor adds an extra layer of thrill to this memorable experience.

After the exhilarating skywalk adventure, head to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is free for you to unwind and explore Busan at your own pace. Whether you choose to relax at the hotel, take a leisurely stroll along the nearby beach, or venture out to discover more of the city's charms, this is your time to savor the beginning of your Busan adventure.

DAY 5: Busan - Coastal Serenity and Cultural Marvels

Start your day at Dongbaek Island, also known as Dongbaekseom. This picturesque island is nestled at the far end of the famous Haeundae Beach in Busan. While it used to be a separate island, sedimentation over time has connected it to the mainland. Nevertheless, it still retains its original name and island charm. Stroll through lush gardens and walking paths, and visit the APEC House, a historic venue where world leaders once gathered.

Your next stop takes you to the enchanting Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, a rare coastal temple nestled along Busan's beautiful shoreline. Unlike most Korean temples, which are typically nestled in the mountains, Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is a serene oasis by the sea. This temple is one of the three sacred places related to the sacred Goddess of Buddha in South Korea.

As the day progresses, make your way to the Jukseong Dream Church, a remarkable architectural gem that was originally built as a Korean drama film set. This whimsical church with its fairytale-like design and vibrant colors adds a touch of artistic charm to your itinerary.

Afterward, head to Gijang-gun, where you'll discover a seaside coffee area. This picturesque location is home to several beautiful coffee shops, each offering stunning views of the ocean. It's the perfect place to relax, sip on a cup of coffee, and savor the serenity of the coastal surroundings. Whether you're a coffee enthusiast or simply looking for a peaceful escape, this seaside coffee area promises a delightful experience.

DAY 6: Busan - Skywalk Thrills, Coastal Culture, and Colorful Charm

Perched in a strategic position, the Oryukdo Skywalk offers a panoramic view of Busan's azure coastline and the surrounding islets. Walking on the transparent glass floor can be an exhilarating experience, providing a sensation of walking on air while gazing down at the ocean depths. The endless blue horizon and the sea breeze make this a perfect spot for photos and moments of awe.

From the heights of the Oryukdo Skywalk, descend to the charming coastal village of Huinnyeoul Culture Village. Nestled on the sloping cliffs of Yeongdo in Busan, this village exudes a unique charm. Explore its narrow winding lanes and brightly colored houses, each with its own character and story. At the base of the village, near the coast, you'll find the Jeoryeong Coastal Walk and Huinnyeoul Coastal Tunnel, offering picturesque views of the rugged coastline and the sea.

Next, cruise over the sea in a cable car on the Busan Air Cruise. As you travel between Songdo Beach and the Namhangdaegyo Bridge, you'll be treated to a breathtaking panorama. The cable car ride provides unrivaled views of Songdo Beach, the Yeongdodaegyo Bridge, the Namhangdaegyo Bridge, Songdo Coastal Dullegil Road, and the stunning rock cliffs that line the coast. It's a scenic experience that will leave you in awe.

End the day at the Gamcheon Culture Village, a place where artistry meets tradition. This unique village is known for its houses built in staircase-fashion along the foothills of a coastal mountain. Each house is adorned with colorful murals, sculptures, and artwork, creating a visually stunning and immersive environment. Explore the winding alleyways, discover hidden art installations, and learn about the village's history and transformation into an artistic haven.
