All Our Travel Tales & Tips

Greetings, dear readers! I'm thrilled to welcome you to my corner of the digital universe. I am Nursha Hassan, the voice that resonates through the airwaves, bringing you news, stories, and a touch of charisma as a Buletin Utama TV3 anchor. You must be wondering why a TV3 anchor would write a travel blog right? Well, it's my passion! While the glamour of the studio lights is undeniable, my role extends beyond the confines of the television screen. Engaging with the community, participating in events, and using my platform for positive change are integral aspects of my journey. I believe in the power of media to inspire, inform, and uplift, and I am committed to making a meaningful impact. That is why I really excited to join this platform for allowing me to relive and celebrate the memorable moments that have enriched my journey in Oxford with my bestie. Why we decided to explore Oxford? Oxford, a city that breathes history and academia, became the backdrop for a memorable adventure with my best friend. As we ventured into the heart of this timeless English gem, we discovered that Oxford's charm extends far beyond its iconic spires and historic colleges. My friend and I had so much fun together. This journey filled with laughter, discovery, and the enduring beauty that is Oxford. A Stroll Through History Our adventure began with a leisurely stroll through the cobbled streets of Oxford. The historic architecture seemed to whisper tales of the past, as we marveled at the renowned colleges that have shaped generations of scholars. The spires of Christ Church College and the medieval beauty of Magdalen College provided a stunning backdrop to our exploration. Radcliffe Camera I am mesmerized by this building. The Radcliffe Camera was built between 1737 and 1749. This building features a distinctive circular shape and a portico with columns. It is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Oxford. Originally designed to house a library, it now serves as a reading room for the Bodleian Library. Botanic Garden As we wandered through the Botanic Garden, the air filled with the fragrance of blooming flowers and the rustle of leaves, creating a serene atmosphere that enveloped us. The garden offered a tranquil escape, and we reveled in the simple joy of being surrounded by nature in the heart of the city. Literary Magic at Bodleian Library No visit to Oxford is complete without delving into its rich literary history. The Bodleian Library, with its labyrinthine corridors and ancient manuscripts, transported us to a world where knowledge transcends time. The Divinity School, adorned with Gothic architecture, left us in awe of the centuries-old institution that has been a sanctuary for scholars and book lovers alike. In the afternoon, we explored the charming streets of the Jericho neighborhood, where cozy bookshops, cafes, and vibrant street art added a modern twist to the city's classical character. Each corner seemed to beckon us to linger a little longer, sharing laughter and stories over a cup of coffee.   Punting on the Cherwell To experience Oxford from a different perspective, we decided to embark on a quintessential Oxford activity – punting on the Cherwell River. Gliding through the serene waterways, we were surrounded by the lush greenery of the University Parks. The rhythmic motion of the punt and the occasional splash of water against the boat created a harmonious symphony, making it a memorable and leisurely afternoon.   Culinary Delights and Breathtaking Views Our culinary journey in Oxford was as diverse as the city itself. From traditional English fare in a historic pub to international cuisine in the eclectic Cowley Road district, we savored every bite. The Rooftop Restaurant at the Ashmolean Museum offered not only delectable dishes but also panoramic views of the city, allowing us to soak in the beauty of Oxford. As we bid farewell to Oxford, we carried with us not only the souvenirs and photographs but also the intangible treasures of shared experiences and strengthened friendship. Oxford, with its timeless charm, had provided the perfect backdrop for our journey of discovery and camaraderie, leaving us with memories that would last a lifetime. "Well-developed tourist services, including information centers, guided tours, and marketing by travel agencies, enhance the overall visitor experience..." (Jazlan Ahmad, Head of Marketing Division, Sedunia Travel Services) Recently, Euromonitor International’s Top 100 City Destinations Index 2023 reveals the leading city players which have improved their economic and business activity, support thriving tourism infrastructure and performance, and show great potential for investment and operation amid increased overtourism, disruptive technology and increased need for sustainable actions. Essentially, this report explores areas of innovation embraced by cities as they fight geopolitical tensions and rising costs of living. According to the report, The top 20 cities in Euromonitor’s Top 100 City Destinations Index 2023 are:   Paris, France  Dubai, United Arab Emirates  Madrid, Spain  Tokyo, Japan  Amsterdam, the Netherlands  Berlin, Germany  Rome, Italy  New York, United States of America  Barcelona, Spain  London, United Kingdom  Singapore, Singapore  Munich, Germany  Milan, Italy  Seoul, South Korea  Dublin, Ireland  Osaka, Japan  Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR  Vienna, Austria  Los Angeles, United States of America  Lisbon, Portugal  Source: https://www.euromonitor.com/top-100-city-destinations-index-2023/report As expected, Tokyo has conquered the top 10 for the first time significantly due to improved developments in tourism infrastructure. Despite of the easing of COVID-19-related regulations, the continued weakening of the Yen since 2022 has attracted tourists to the city, boosting hotel occupancy, to enjoy consumer experiences at very low prices.  European destinations command the Index with 12 cities in the top 20 and 63 in the top 100. No doubt, this performance is influenced by fast-paced urbanisation as well as widespread technology adoption.  " Regular cultural events, festivals, and celebrations can create a dynamic and exciting atmosphere, drawing tourists during specific times of the year..." Nestled in the lush Asir region of southern Saudi Arabia, Abha is a hidden gem just waiting to be discovered by avid travelers and adventure seekers. The city offers a unique blend of natural beauty, culture, and history. My journey began at Abha Airport after an hour and 45 minutes from Riyadh city. The airport's design beautifully complements the surrounding landscape, making it an inviting introduction to the Asir region. From the moment I landed, I could feel the crisp mountain air and the promise of an unforgettable adventure.   Picture: Ala Bali Restaurant High City: An Elevated Experience As I ventured into Abha's "High City," I was greeted by the breathtaking sight of the Sarawat Mountains. The city is perched at an elevation of over 2,200 meters above sea level, which not only offers a refreshing climate but also stunning panoramic views. The cool air was a welcome change from the desert heat of Saudi Arabia's lowlands. This is a perfect place to explore local cafes while enjoying the fresh landscapes. Don't miss the chance to try traditional dishes at the local restaurants, we tried "Grape Leaves" in Ala Bali Restaurant (just under 10 minutes walk from High City), which are a true delight for the taste buds!   Picture: High City Fatima Museum: A Glimpse into Asir's Heritage My next stop was the Fatima Museum, a cultural treasure trove that provides a deep insight into the heritage and traditions of the Asir region. The museum showcases a rich collection of artifacts, including traditional clothing, jewelry, and handicrafts. Visitors can also learn about the region's history and architecture from Fatima herself. The museum's friendly staff are also more than willing to share stories and explanations about the exhibits, making it a great place to immerse yourself in local culture. Rijal Almaa: A Step Back in Time The following day, I embarked on a journey to Rijal Almaa, an enchanting village known for its well-preserved historic buildings. A short drive from Abha, this UNESCO World Heritage Site takes you back in time, with its ancient mud-brick architecture and narrow, winding streets. Exploring the village's intricately designed homes was like stepping into a living history book. Rijal Almaa's charm lies not only in its unique architecture but also in the warm hospitality of the locals.   If you have an itch to experience Abha's unique combination of high-altitude beauty, rich heritage, and welcoming locals, then check out   www.seduniatravel.com  or email contact@seduniatravel.com to inquire about this itinerary. Abha is a destination that will leave you with lasting memories of your journey through southern Saudi Arabia.

Hello everyone! I am thrilled to share one of my travel experiences that I will never forget. It's the Tiger Kingdom in Phuket, Thailand. My recent trip to this tropical paradise was a blend of relaxation and adventure, making it an unforgettable #birthdaytrip experience. The Tiger Kingdom in Phuket offers tourists the opportunity to get up close with tigers and other big cats. There, I was able to engage in various activities. Don't worry, I will share the ticket price list too, for your reference. However, my gentle reminder, it's better to go through travel agents since it's always packed with tourists and you might have to wait a few hours for your turn. Okay, story time! #1: My First Impressions First of all, how I feel about this place. I'm not sure about other people, but for me, to get close up and pat the tigers with my own hands would be a lifetime experience that I wanted to do at least once. I went there early after the hotel's breakfast, at 8.30am. It's located only 5km from Patong Beach. I decided to rent a scooter (250Baht/day = RM45) and requested not to follow my group. It's my birthday trip, so I needed more time for myself. It was my first experience riding a scooter, but it was fun! I love exploring and discovering Phuket, a beautiful beach! I used Google Maps to get the direction and it's quite easy to get there as it's just near the main road. You should give it a try too! #2: Collect Tickets or Queue Up? Upon arrival, the gatekeeper gave me a coupon. It's my queue number of the day. I was number 08 in line. Lucky number! Good thing I decided to come early, or else I might have to wait longer. The Tiger Kingdom is always packed with tourists from all around the world. If you're traveling without a travel agent, get ready to queue up at the walk-in ticket counter, (I won't), however. If you booked the ticket from travel agents, just proceed to the privilege counter, walk like VVIP and collect your wristband. After collecting my wristband, I waited in the lounge. I had the chance to talk to other tourists too. They're a couple from Denmark, and families from South Korea and Spain. It's fun to share the same excitement since it was the first experience for all of us. #3: Choose Your Tigers This is a tough decision to make. If I could, I would love to have a 15 minute session with every big cat there, but I chose medium tigers because I could. Actually, I was not aware that tickets for feeding the tigers and having a session in the cage with them were sold separately. Also, if I were to change or add them on I had to wait for a few hours more. Well, that's okay, having a 15 minute session with them is enough. I cannot believe that I was able to see tigers that close and touch them. The first 3 minutes I'm quite nervous actually, I believe many will do. Crazy, isn't it? These big cats are just in front of you, with that hungry look. But the keeper really helps to calm me down. Also, I was instructed to approach the tiger from behind and avoid face-to-face interactions. They're not being drugged, ironically, they're behaving well. So don't worry, they won't take you for their meals (hopefully). It's a lifetime experience that I could never forget! The excitement, nervousness, and thrilling. It's just overwhelming. One of my bucket lists is done! #4: Tickets/Package Price As I said earlier, its better to skip the line and wait for a few hours just to get entrance tickets, especially if you're coming with kids or elderly people. You can purchase tickets from travel agents. As promised, please refer to the price list below for your reference. If you wished to travel to Phuket soon don't forget to put Tiger Kingdom into your list to visit. Looking for Package Deals and Travel Arrangements?? It is not normal for airlines or cruise line to intentionally damage passengers' luggage, but luggage can sometimes be damaged during the handling and transport process. Airline staff typically handle a large volume of baggage daily, and despite efforts to handle luggage with care, accidents and mishandling can occur. What to do if your airlines or cruise line damage your luggage or bag? Step #1 - Assess The Damage Please examine your luggage carefully to determine the extent of the damage. Check for broken zippers, handles, wheels, or other structural issues. Take clear photos of the damage as evidence. Would be better if you have a picture of your luggage before it's broken too. This can be useful when filing a claim with the airline, cruise line, or your travel insurance provider. Step #2 - Notify the Airline or Cruise Line If the damage occurred during a flight or cruise, report it to the airline or cruise line immediately. It's important to report the damage as soon as you discover it. Most airlines have a dedicated baggage claim counter or customer service desk where you can report the issue. They may provide you with a damage report form. *Important Note: You have up to 24 hours to report a claim for domestic flights and seven (7) days for international flights on most carriers, though policies vary by airline. Step #3 - File A Claim If your luggage was damaged during a flight, follow the airline's procedure for filing a claim. You'll need to provide details of the damage, your flight information, and any relevant documentation. However, if your luggage is under warranty or you believe the damage is due to a manufacturing defect, contact the luggage manufacturer for repair or replacement options. *Note: Keep your original receipt or proof of purchase for the luggage. This can be important when dealing with the airline, manufacturer, or insurance company. Step #4 - Make Sure to Report Immediately Remember that each airline, cruise line, or insurance provider may have specific policies and procedures for handling luggage damage, so it's essential to follow their guidelines. Timely reporting and documentation are key to resolving the issue efficiently. Don't panic or get emotional. Stay calm and take action rationally. Tip #5 - Contact your Travel Agency Easy step, to avoid any problems or failure on communicating with airline or cruise line, just contact your travel agency who handles your travel arrangements. It's much easier because your travel agency will be able to advise on how to handle. Recommendation In the future, consider investing in durable luggage or adding a luggage protection plan if you frequently travel. You may consult with your travel agency for more details. Associate Professor Dr. Aimi Zulhazmi, Economic Analyst; claims that a travel agency could be a great help for cost-cutting, especially when you're traveling in a group with friends or families. Dr. Aimi also highlighted a few points about the advantages of traveling with an agency compared to traveling without a travel agency (Travel DIY). Budgeting and planning are the main things when it comes to travel. However, most Malaysians aren't able to prepare a good budget and planning due to work commitments, busy schedules, and also lack of knowledge about travel destinations they want to explore. Studies show that Malaysians prefer to travel with a travel agency to get assistance on travel itineraries and budgeting. Assoc. Professor Dr. Aimi Zulhazmi highlighted a few points on why traveling with a travel agency is better. Reason #1 - Cost- Cutting Package Deals The first reason why Malaysians prefer to travel with a travel agency is because travel agencies often offer package deals that include flights, accommodations, transportation, and sometimes additional activities. Agencies provide convenience and savings as they help to personalise your travel by referring to your travel budget and style. For example, Sedunia Travel helps their clients to customise their travel itinerary according to their budget, interest, and preferences. They're also "Flexible Independent Travel (F.I.T)" agency where the travel itinerary is custom-built for travellers personally. Reason #2 - Negotiated Rates Travel agencies may have access to negotiated rates with airlines, hotels, and other service providers. This can result in potential cost saving compared to booking each component individually. For example, Sedunia Travel always offers reasonable flight tickets to almost 100 countries and destinations because they have negotiated rates with prominent airlines, such as Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways, Air Asia, Emirates and more. "Travel agencies minimise risk when travelling. Besides, no hidden costs because the budget is clear ...." – Assc. Prof. Dr. Aimi Zulhazmi, Economic Analyst Reason #3 - Discounts and Deals Travel agencies have access to exclusive discounts and deals, which can make their offering more appealing from a cost perspective. You may not be able to access to certain discount rate because there are tourism bodies/partners that only give this privilege to their tourism partners and agencies. Travel agencies offered better discounted deals than what you can find on your own. For example, Sedunia Travel partnered with Belmond, Ponant, Princess Cruise, Celestyal Cruise, Cosmos, Club Med, Globus, Rocky Mountaineer, Avalon Waterways, Aman Resorts, Orient Silk Road Express, Rovos Rail, and more. Reason #4 - Security and Risk Management Natural disaster is a type of emergency that we can't predict, especially when you're traveling. That is why travel agencies always encourage travellers to be well informed about their travel itinerary so that agencies can prepare and take action for any emergencies. In terms of security, travel agencies could provide shelter, quick-action as well as assistance if a natural disaster happens. However, the situation might be different if you're traveling on your own without arrangements from travel agencies. If a natural disaster happens you might end up stranded without proper risk management. Hence, that is why Malaysians nowadays prefer traveling with a travel agency to avoid unwanted causes of events. Reason #5 - Cost-Efficiency and Flexibility in Pricing Before, people believed that doing personal budgeting for traveling was cost-saving. However, nowadays, Malaysians believe that traveling with travel agencies offers cost-efficiency and flexibility in pricing. In addition, doing personal budgeting is more risky because you may not know the currency rate, entrance fees, or taxes applied. Consequently, many couldn't track their expenses or even ended up spending more money when traveling. However, the situation is different when traveling with agencies. For example, Sedunia Travel would help to list down all budgets included for a certain trip without hidden costs. There, you can adjust based on your travel style and budget accordingly. Conclusion - Traveling Require Proper Budgeting and Planning Assc. Prof Aimi Zulhazmi himself would prefer traveling with an agency, especially for family holidays. It's cost-efficient and flexible . For More Details about F.I.T visit https://seduniatravel.com

It is believed that there are 5 Factors that significantly proves that children has influenced family holidays decision-making. Hence, these facilities are the determinant to choose the right hotels or places for stay on family holidays. Factor #2 - Food and Beverages Services Children has an interesting mood and sometimes could be very selective in terms of food they consumed especially if they have food allergies. Good food good mood. Parents will study either their holiday destinations have access to a good food and beverages for their children. Significantly this is another factor supported that children influenced family holidays decision-making. "Food is always a significant aspect of any trip- no matter how tired you might be, you're going to sit down and have something good to eat..." – Travel Talk, Culinary Tourism Factor #3 - Room-related Services of Facilities Room-related services include baby tub, humidifier and baby cribs. Sometimes parents who traveling with kids are being more sensitive with what hotels services could offer. That is why before deciding holiday destinations parents would take room-related services of facilities into account since they need to plan either they need to carry or not. Therefore, they prefer hotels or travel agencies that are able to provide such facilities when they're traveling with kids. Factor #4 - Baby-related Services Baby related services is another thing that determine a family holiday decision-making. These include stroller, waterproof baby diapers and also clean environment. Any destination that is high in pollution are definitely not in the list. Parents that traveling with kids often prefer a place that has accessibility to healthcare to prepare for any emergencies. Factor #5 - Travel Itinerary and Arrangements Traveling with kids could be hard sometimes. Kids love doing random things, even sometimes it's quite difficult to read what's on their mind. This is the reason why most parents prefer to travel with a professional guided tour or travel agencies to make sure their holiday is secured and manageable. Handling kids on family holidays could be a disaster without preparing them entertainments and adventurous activities for them to explore.
